Photosynthesis embodies precious, fleeting moments of late summer, like light dancing through a canopy of leaves on a warm, sunny day. Constructed from heat-formed acrylic sheets, this lamp features two distinct forms: ON and OFF.

When on, acrylic etching recreates tree canopy shadows and projects them onto the outer canopy when turned on. When turned off, the curve of the interior arc against the plain “lighting white” acrylic serves as a canvas to highlight the frosted pattern on the interior layer. The form of this light source is intended to be as simple and unobtrusive as possible, serving to subtly enhance any domestic space where it is hung.
