Lighting design

The Photosynthesis light embodies precious, fleeting moments of late summer, like light dancing through a canopy of leaves on a warm, sunny day. Constructed with two heat-formed acrylic sheets, this lamp features two distinct forms: Off and on.

Featuring a double-layered acrylic canopy, this light fixture recreates tree canopy shadows and projects them onto itself when turned on. When turned off, the curve of the interior arc against the plain “lighting white” acrylic serves as a canvas to highlight the frosted pattern on the interior layer. The form of this lightsource is intended to be as simple and unobtrusive as possible, serving to subtly enhance the domestic space where it is hung.
